The public review period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement of the Belleayre Resort has been extended 60 days. The new deadline for comments is April 23. Written comments may be submitted before April 23rd to:

• Call, write and/or visit your elected/appointed officials
Ultimately the decision to deny the permits is made by the Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Erin M. Crotty who is appointed by Governor Pataki. Let both of them know that you strongly oppose this proposed development.
Write to New York City Mayor Bloomberg and Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Christopher O. Ward, and tell them you oppose this development and the danger it poses to the NYC watershed.
The Sierra Club has suggestions on how to write letters, make calls, and meet with your local and state politicians.
Please post any letters you may write or reports of phone calls that you make on the bulletin board. Our work inspires each other. Together we can stop this project and preserve the Catskill's for future generations.
